Open data
Public data kept in the Finnish Transparency Register is available in machine-readable format through an open interface. The data can be freely used but the data source must be given.
In the open interface, the data of the disclosures published in the Transparency Register is available in JSON format. Machine-readable data enables the creation of queries and reports based on the Transparency Register data and tailored to your own needs.
The open interface of the Transparency Register is used through the OpenAPI (Swagger) user interface. The interface can also be found in the avoindata.fi service.
Terms of use for the interface are given below. Remember to familiarise with them before using the interface.
Terms of use for the open interface of the Finnish Transparency Register
Description of the interface and access rights
The latest versions of the registrations, deregistrations and disclosures of activities published in the Transparency Register can be accessed through the open interface. In addition, the interface provides information on disclosure periods, reporting periods and lobbying targets.
The data accessible through the interface can be freely used but you must give the data source in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 licence. The interface can be used free of charge.
The interface is intended for light use cases in which performance is not a critical factor. The interface is not recommended for processing large amounts of data because the capacity cannot be guaranteed.
Restrictions on use
The data producer may restrict access to the interface if the use is in such a scale that it interferes with the service.
Responsibility
When using the open data, the interface user is responsible for the use of the data. The data producer is not responsible for any direct or indirect damage that may be caused by the use of the data, or for any damage caused by service interruptions.
Changes to the service
The data producer reserves the right to make changes to the content, functionality and terms of use of the interface. Information about changes is published at www.avoimuusrekisteri.fi.
Licence
The National Audit Office of Finland is the producer and copyright holder of the data. The data is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0).
The data may be copied, edited and shared in original or modified format. It may be combined with other data and used for commercial purposes.
When licensed data is used, at least the following information must be given:
Name of the data producer
Name of the data and link to it
Name of the licence used and link to it
It must also be stated if the data has been edited.
Example: National Audit Office of Finland, open data kept in the Finnish Transparency Register, CC BY 4.0.
By receiving, downloading or making the data available by other means, the user agrees to the above terms of use.
Instructions for using the interface
The interface is used through the OpenAPI (Swagger) user interface. You can recognise the open interfaces from the ‘open-data’ marking at the beginning of the interface name.
‘Register notification’ means registration, ‘activity notification’ means disclosure of activities, and ‘exit notification’ means deregistration.
Interface response speeds may be affected by large data volumes, especially in connection with disclosures of activities.
